Warm, welcoming family on the Gold Coast is looking for a caring au pair to help care for two young children aged 16 months and 3 years. The role offers flexible hours based on rotating nurse rosters, a private master bedroom with ensuite

We are a kind, family-oriented household living in Labrador on the Gold Coast, looking to welcome a caring and responsible au pair into our home.

Both parents work as nurses at the hospital and have rotating shift schedules, so the household runs on a flexible and well-organised routine that prioritises balance, rest, and clear communication. 

We have two beautiful young children:

• A 3-year-old who loves singing, art and craft, helping in the kitchen, playground time and age-appropriate shows
• A 16-month-old who loves copying her big sister and happily joins in with whatever activity is happening

The children are playful, curious, and enjoy spending time outdoors, at parks, and on relaxed beach walks.

🕒 The role

Because both parents work rotating shifts, the schedule is planned one month in advance, so you always know your working days and days off ahead of time.

Daily hours vary and generally range between 3–8 hours per day, depending on shift overlaps.
There are often 3–4 days off per week, depending on how rosters fall.

Examples include:

• Care during shift overlap periods (e.g. early afternoon)
• Occasional overnight care when both parents are on night shift (children sleep through the night and nights are usually quiet)

All hours and expectations are discussed clearly in advance.

Total weekly hours: approx. 20–35 hours
Weekly pocket money: $250–$350

📍 Location

The Gold Coast offers beautiful beaches, warm weather year-round, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle or balance work with study, travel, or a second job.

Someone warm, patient and confident with young children, who is flexible, communicative, and happy with a roster-based role. This placement suits an au pair who values lifestyle balance and clear planning, while enjoying being part of a supportive family.

Start date: Flexible (mid to late February ideal).
