BERRIED IN TAS is located in Carrick, Northern Tasmania, 20 km from Launceston and we are looking to recruit up to 100 seasonal workers to the position of Farm Labourer. The positions will be Temporary Part Time with a minimum of 30 hours per week and paid under the Horticulture Award 2020 at the pay rate of a Level 1 employee (currently $23.46 per hour). Piece rates will be offered to employees for picking activities.
These positions will be available during Harvest Season, starting Mid October 2024 onwards until end of May 2025. The length of employment will be minimum of 3 months to a maximum of 8 months, depending on the duties and start date.
The Farm Labourer Positions will include some or all of the following duties depending on the applicants skills and the work available:
- Strawberry Picking & Packing – 45 positions
- Raspberry Picking & Packing – 32 positions
- Strawberry & Raspberry plant maintenance- 3 positions
- Harvest Support- 10 positions
- Quality Control – 6 positions
- Fork Lift Operation – 2 positions
- Tractor Driving – 2 positions
- Grape Picking & Vine maintenance
These positions are physically demanding, involving working long days in outside weather conditions. Hours during harvest can be long and may include weekends. The exact days of work each week cannot be predicted as work requirements may be dictated by weather.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including long days & weekends
- Be physically fit and be able to work outside in various weather conditions
- Be able to follow instructions and work in a team environment
- Follow Work Health & Safety Procedures & instructions
- Available to start work in line with the above timeframe
Berried in Tas pays in line with the Horticulture Award 2020, with both hourly & piece rate available depending on the role.
