Harvest help

2 staff, 8 hr days 5 days a week. ( normally) 1 to work shed on checking quality of macadamia nut, with some orchard work. Other experienced machinery operator cab tractors, harvesters etc. May suit couple hence single advert.

Please note. You will need a drivers licence and own transport. We have no accomodation**. Camp sites are nearby.  Main farm located 20 Km north east of Gympie 4570. **There is a small chance accomodation will be available later in year, and short term camping on farm could be arranged initially.

Shed work. Working the picking belt to eliminate reject nut. full training provided. 2 breaks per day working alongside 1 of owners ( fem) Once trained some degree of working on own is possible. Quick hands and good eyesight required! Some orchard work available, checking irrigation, helping service machinery with 4 wheel transport etc.

The orchard vacancy would be mowing with tractors, tractor and trailer work delivering nuts from paddock to shed, running a mobile dehusker and possibly harvester driving - depending on ability. Your eventual main role will depend upon aptitude, but staff are expected to be able to fill in as necessary. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate some experience with agricultural kit, be sympathetic in its use and aware of health and safety culture. Some mechanical aptitude desireable. Modern well maintained kit.

Our regular staff work 5 days and 8 to 9 hrs. Longer hrs may be available subject to crop volumes and weather. 2 rest breaks per day. Noirmal facilities provided.

Available from 2nd week of March through to July. Possibility of extension to September for right applicants for our post harvest orchard repair season.
