Vehicle Spray Painter | Melbourne (Multiple Sites)

My client is seeking multiple Vehicle Spray Painters to join his four Automotive workshops across Melbourne. In this role, you will be delivering automotive repair services to clients. With a reputation built on precision, premium materials, and a commitment to restoring every vehicle to its original condition, we are now looking for an experienced Vehicle Painters to join the team. This is a hands-on trade role for someone who takes their craft seriously and holds themselves to a high standard on every job that comes through the workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle panels for paint by identifying and smoothing out surface imperfections, using both hand sanding and power sanding equipment to achieve a clean, even base
• Mask off areas of the vehicle not being painted, including glass, trim, and fittings, using tape and masking paper to protect surfaces throughout the painting process
• Match paint colours accurately to the vehicle's existing finish, whether by mixing paints to achieve the correct shade or selecting the right pre-mixed product
• Apply primer coats and finishing coats to vehicle surfaces using spray-guns, sanding back between coats to ensure a smooth, professional result
• Carry out paint touch-ups and apply polish to completed work, ensuring the finish is consistent and meets the standard the workshop is known for
• Remove masking materials once painting is complete and carry out final waxing and polishing to deliver a finished vehicle that is ready for the customer
• Apply rust-proofing treatments to vehicles where required, protecting against corrosion over the long term
• Paint signs, graphics, or decorative artwork onto vehicles where specified

What you'll bring

• Trade qualification or equivalent hands-on experience in your field
• A strong work ethic and pride in the quality of your work
• Reliability and a team-first attitude
• A current driver's licence
• Own tools of trade would be highly regarded
